murphy beds have come a long way over the last few years. now that more people are moving into smaller spaces, the demand for dual purpose attractive furniture has increased. back when i lived in ny and shared a studio, i had a typical murphy bed that was hidden in a closet. it was ugly and uncomfortable. i had to place two wood blocks on the floor so that the legs wouldn't damage the carpet. not a good murphy bed experience.
above you will see one murphy bed option-it looks like a chest of drawers but it's actually a murphy bed. very masculine and attractive. i can't find the original website for this but will try and find it if anyone is interested.
another murphy bed option -check out where i got this picture from HERE & check out the website for these beds HERE. at first, i didn't like the idea of a sideways bed. after considering my space, it maybe the best option. i could easily leave the bed down during the week and still use the rest of my studio easily. what also attracts me to this option is what it looks like when the bed is stored away (check out website link). i can picture a couch in front or two side chairs. another plus-->this option is also affordable.IF i went with the murphy bed option (because i haven't officially decided yet), what do you think of the above options?

I like the top one but the second one looks ineresting...it almost looks like there's tile on the wall. (I don't know how to describe what I am thinking)
Have you decided on what you are going to do?
i haven't quite decided yet. im sort of thinking out loud right now.
i love the look of the first one-
john-same here. my fav is the first one
just curious if you went with the 2nd one, b/c I was debating it for myself.
jen-i've decided to go for a murphy bed but haven't done anything yet. i think i am going to do a more traditional style. keep me posted.
